2-Wheel'd Freakz

2-Wheel'd Freakz

Did anyone send in their editorial to the Herald about Saternow's slamming cycling? I was wondering if they just won't publish them or if they never got submitted. It looks like the post here must have been deleted, at least I couldn't find it. We really shouldn't let him get away with the comments he made.

Saturday's ride with the Freakz

John's journeys

I went on a ride this morning with the Two Wheeled Freakz out of Shenango Valley. We rode from Buhl Park to Andover Ohio, over the causeway at Pymatuning down Lake road into Jamestown Pa. and back over to Ohio to take Rt 7 (nice road for biking) back towards are starting point. Altogether we rode 72 miles. We left the park at 7:20 this morning and arrived back at 12:20 this afternoon.

Rode to MK Goddard

John's journeys

I slept for a couple hours this morning after work. Woke up the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. I took my road bike and headed out my road towards Stoneboro. I hate having to haul my bike to where I can ride but it sure is a trick riding that thing on my dirt road. I dodged a pothole and hit some soft sand where I quickly sunk in and did an endo. Nothing hurt, dusted myself off and continued on. Took the Fredonia road into Stoneboro, out to Rt 62, into Sandy Lake to Creek Road to MK Goddard. Rode the bike trail around the lake and back same route to my house. 29.2 miles total nice ride probably be better to just take my mountain bike next time.

Rode to New Wilmington on Sunday

John's journeys

Our church joined with the other churches in New Wilmington and had a service at the Ampitheater. I figured since it was outside it wouldn't matter if I got a little sweaty getting there. We sure have lots of hills here in western Pa. I passed an Amish buggy going up the hill on Rt 158 just before you cross over I-80. They evidently didn't like getting passed by an old man on a bicycle because as soon as I was around them they speeded up. The horse was tired, I heard it pick up it's pace so I speeded up a little bit myself. They never caught up with me. Going down the big hill past Durisko's was fun. I could have used a taller gear.

In the afternoon my wife and I got together with her sister and a couple friends and we rode the rail trail up at Franklin. The one guy was visiting from New Zealand so I brought my mountain bike for him to ride. He really enjoyed the ride.
